I’ve been on the business side of it too.
I started in website and graphic design for a local company in 2011. In 2016, I set up Pixel Boy, offering website design and digital marketing.
I closed Pixel Boy around the start of the pandemic in 2020 and continued fully self-employed. At the same time, I began co-running the ecommerce business behind the Kirsty Meakin brand, looking after the website, marketing and much of the day-to-day running.
That meant thinking about more than how the website looked. People needed to understand the products, place their orders and get answers to their questions. The marketing and website had to work alongside everything else happening in the business.
I left the ecommerce business in 2026 to focus fully on Dan McGovern Digital Marketing.
I’ve worked on both sides of it: building the website and helping run the business behind one. That’s useful when we’re talking about yours.
